ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando man was arrested after leaving and then returning to the scene of a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Dean Road and Flowers Avenue.
According to an arrest report, when troopers arrived on scene, the female victim was receiving CPR. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
The driver fled the scene but returned approximately 45 minutes to an hour later in a different vehicle, the arrest report states. Deputies identified the driver as Alexander James Petrone, 40, of Orlando. Petrone admitted to driving the vehicle involved in the crash but claimed he was unsure what he ha
