WASHINGTON (WBAY) - A local company has a direct connection to the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree that goes up on Tuesday.
J.J. Keller of Neenah helped arrange the transport of the tree from a national forest in Nevada to the west lawn of the White House in Washington D.C.
J.J. Keller’s business is to help other fleets comply with complex regulations aimed at ensuring safe highways, and the USDA Forest Service reached out to get the tree through ten states safely; it provided the service and all permits at no cost.
The tree lighting ceremony of the 53-foot Red Fir named Silver Belle is at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Central Time.
Three employees from J.J. Keller will be on hand as guests.
