CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's a guilty pleasure many indulge in this time of year: Christmas romantic comedies.

A group of filmmakers that met at Columbia College has a studio specializing in those movies, and shoots them in the Chicago area every year.

"Exes of Christmas Past" is streaming now, and the director said it's all about coming back home to find what's missing in your life.

Josie runs a luxury hotel in Chicago.

She's back home for the holidays, where her parents run a bed and breakfast.

It turns out, her high school boyfriends are all staying there.

Director Jake Jarvi grew up on the North Shore.

He and his wife, Eliza Toser, live in Gurnee, and co-wrote "Exes of Christmas Past."
