For the third straight week, Penn State star running back Kaytron Allen has taken home some Big Ten hardware.
The senior earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors for his explosive performance in a 40-36 win at Rutgers .
Allen ran for a career-high 226 yards and a touchdown, including three gains of 40-plus yards. That marked the most rushing yards for a Nittany Lion since Larry Johnson’s 279 vs. Michigan State in 2002
Allen also recorded 12 yards on a pair of receptions.
His fifth game of at least 100 rushing yards this season was pivotal in Penn State earning its sixth win and a bowl game bid. In the process, he became the first 4,000-yard rusher in Penn State program history and just the 23rd player to do it in Big Ten history.
