SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Florida partners have provided more than $11 billion to support survivors of Hurricanes Helene & Milton.
According to FEMA, more than $11 billion in grants, community reimbursements, and flood-insurance payments have now been provided to support Florida’s recovery. This includes over $1.8 billion obligated to the state to reimburse local communities for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and repairs to critical infrastructure.
Debris removal remains one of the largest components of recovery. More than $589.9 million has been obligated for debris-removal operations, supporting the clearance of over 31.67 million cubic yards of hurricane-related debris across impacted areas.
