NORFOLK, Va. — There is new leadership at U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC).
Adm. Karl Thomas assumed command of USFFC during a ceremony on Monday aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) at Naval Station Norfolk.
Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle presided over the change of command, praising Thomas’ background in information warfare, intelligence, and fleet leadership. Caudle said Thomas brings “exceptional leadership experience and strategic vision” at a time of growing global security challenges.
Gen. Gregory M. Guillot, commander of U.S. Northern Command, also spoke at the ceremony. He highlighted the Navy’s role in homeland defense and said Thomas’ experience will strengthen coordination between U.S. Northern Command and Naval Forces Northern Command.
