More than 200 flights were cancelled, and hundreds more were delayed at Chicago's airports on Monday as travelers dealt with the effects of the latest winter system in combination with this past weekend's snowstorm.
The flight-tracking website FlightAware.com reported 249 cancellations at O'Hare Airport and 936 delays as of 5 p.m. A ground delay was implemented due to the snow and ice and slated to remain in effect until 10:59 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The average delay was 82 minutes, according to the agency.
In stark contrast, only one cancellation had been reported at Midway. The airport, however, was under a ground stop due to the snow and ice late Monday afternoon. The g
