WAUKESHA, Wis. (WKOW) — Morgan Geyser's attorney has requested that she be moved to a mental health facility following her escape from Madison and arrest in Illinois last week.

Geyser's attorney is requesting that she be moved to the Winnebago Mental Health Facility, WISN 12 News reports . That's where she spent over seven years before her release in July.

In 2014, when Geyser was 12, she stabbed her 12-year-old friend, Payton Leutner, nearly to death. She and another girl, Anissa Weier, told police they stabbed Leutner to please the fictional online character, Slender Man.

Madison police say Geyser, now 23, removed her GPS monitoring bracelet and left her group home in Madison on Nov. 22. She was placed in the group home by the Department of Health Services (DHS) following a Waukesha
