LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Town of Lexington is set to review the official traffic impact study Monday night for a proposed subdivision on the 300 block of Barr Road , next to Lexington Presbyterian Church and the Barr Road Sports Complex.

The study outlines the road improvements the developer would be required to pay for if the project moves forward. Council is also scheduled to take up the first reading of the annexation request needed for the subdivision.

Residents who live near the site say they are worried the planned construction of more than 300 homes would worsen traffic and change the character of the neighborhood.

Roger Williams, who lives directly behind the proposed development, said traffic congestion is already a daily challenge.
