MINNEAPOLIS — During his second term, President Donald Trump has frequently clashed with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's administration over issues such as transgender participation in sports, tuition assistance for undocumented immigrants and hiring practices related to minority groups.

This weekend, though, the two political rivals entered into a more personal conflict, this time focusing on Somali immigration in Minnesota.

After vowing last month to end Temporary Protected Status for Somalis in the U.S. without permanent authorization, Trump escalated his attacks with a Thanksgiving Day social media post that claimed "hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota."
