Former Reno City Council member Paul McKenzie was arrested on two domestic violence charges over Thanksgiving weekend.
Washoe County jail records listed him as an inmate Monday with no bail set.
McKenzie's wife and adult grandson were granted restraining orders against him over the Nov. 29 incident.
According to the restraining order request, McKenzie knocked his wife over and when his grandson placed himself between them, McKenzie began "smacking and punching" him. The grandson was taken to the emergency room for a mild concussion and stitches, the document said.
A hearing on one of the charges is set for Monday, Dec. 15, in the Reno Justice Court.
McKenzie, 67, served one term from 2014 to 2018, representing Ward 4 on the Reno City Council.
