For the first time this winter, plowable snow is in the forecast for central Pennsylvania.

Much of the state is already under a Winter Weather Advisory, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) , which goes into effect at 3 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Hazardous travel is expected during the Tuesday morning commute, with a plowable snowfall expected. Mixed precipitation is likely near the Mason-Dixon line, where a glaze of ice is possible. Localized snowfall totals over 6 inches are possible at higher elevations to the east of US-15 and north of I-81/I-78 into the southern Poconos, according to the NWS.
