FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 29-year-old man has died after being crushed while working on an oil rig in Fresno County, sheriffs say.
Deputies were called around 10:45 a.m. on Monday about an injured man in a field near Mt. Whitney and Polk Avenues near Riverdale.
When they arrived, they found a man who had died after being crushed by a large piece of steel that had swung down from the rig.
Investigators say that the victim was working with a company to remove an oil rig from the property.
The incident is still under investigation by Cal/OSHA.
