MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A recent cyberattack may have exposed personal information belonging to Monroe County residents , according to a Facebook post from the Monroe County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) .

The EMA said the attack hit OnSolve CodeRED, the county’s emergency notification system. The agency said that this was a nationwide cybersecurity breach affecting all OnSolve CodeRED customers, not just Monroe County.

“The nationwide data breach was not in any way caused by Monroe County EMA,” the post said.

County officials said people who use the emergency notification system may have had their names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and passwords accessed. Anyone who uses the same password for other accounts should change those passwords right away.
