COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Water is alerting drivers to a road closure on Covenant Road as crews begin a sewer mainline replacement project at the intersection of Covenant and Beltline.

According to the utility, McClam Construction is performing the work throughout the week. While traffic on Beltline Boulevard will be maintained, it will shift around the work zone. Covenant Road on the northeast side of the intersection will be fully closed between the intersection and 3015 Covenant Road, the first house on that side.

Traffic control was set up Monday, December 1, with construction beginning in full on Tuesday, December 2. Columbia Water expects the project to be completed by the end of the day Friday, December 5.
