Homelessness operations in the Treasure Valley are expected to be more strained as the winter months approach and, over the coming weeks, shelter homes and similar organizations will be hosting fundraising events and calling on the community for needed warming supplies and other necessities to help those often overlooked survive the winter.

According to CATCH, a Treasure Valley organization dedicated to connecting people with housing, there are currently more than 350 southwest Idaho families and 1,450 adult-only households experiencing homelessness and on one of the organization’s housing waitlists.
