The City of Wilmington hopes to help more people afford home repairs.
The next Home Repair Lottery will take place Wednesday, December 17th, according to Mayor John Carney and Wilmington City Council. Applicants must meet certain income guidelines to become eligible for city-funded repairs, must be a homeowner in the city, and the home must be owner-occupied. Funding is available for repairs to roofing, plumbing or electrical systems, as well as safety-related needs.
“Every home repaired is a neighbor supported, a block strengthened, and a piece of our city preserved,” Carney said. “The Senior Home Repair Program has made a real difference in the lives of our older residents, and we’re excited to extend this opportunity to every Wilmington homeowner.”
