A North Texas food truck owner says a Thanksgiving weekend break-in cost him thousands in equipment and forced his business to cancel catering jobs.
Frank Hernandez, owner of King Kups in McKinney, said he started selling elotes street corn with his oldest daughter in 2018 as a side business.
“And then it just grew and grew and grew,” Hernandez said.
As the business expanded, Hernandez added a catering trailer so they could attend more events beyond their food truck parked off North Central Expressway near West Virginia Street.
“We travel all over DFW with this trailer, so, this is our workhorse,” Hernandez said Monday.
But over the holiday weekend, that workhorse was left inoperable.
