PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) - A new ban took effect on Dec. 1, requiring that all vape shops across Mississippi get rid of products not approved by the Food & Drug Administration.
The ban came after state legislators passed House Bill 916 earlier this year.
Back in October, retailers were given 60 days to clear the products from their shelves.
“We’ve already been filling in products that are on the state registry, so it’ll be like nothing ever happened for the consumer,” said Bill Wikstrom, Vaporized owner.
The ban mostly targets disposable vapes and flavored juices.
Business owners have raised concerns regarding the ban’s impact, as roughly 54% of vapes sold nationally are unauthorized.
