GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - A Cleveland man was arrested on Sunday after police say he stole an ambulance and crashed it at Marymount Hospital.

The man suffered minor injuries in the crash. No one was in the ambulance at the time of the theft and no one else was injured, police said.

Police did not release the man’s name and charges have not yet been filed.

The man jumped in the Midwest Medical ambulance about 10 a.m. near the hospital’s emergency room, police said.

The man attempted to drive away but crashed into a light pole, causing the ambulance to topple on its side, police said.

Cleveland Clinic police arrested the man at the scene, officials said.
