A 61-year-old woman died after a 24-year-old driver crossed the double-yellow line, causing a three-vehicle crash last Wednesday, Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving, in Central Jersey, authorities said.
The crash happened around 4:25 p.m. between Route 522 and Route 1, here a 2017 Subaru Legacy driven by a 24-year-old woman from Manalapan was traveling westbound when she crossed the double yellow median and struck a 2000 Dodge Caravan, operated by Nancy Krauss, 61, of Kendall Park, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
After the first impact, a 2012 Subaru Outback driven by a 42-year-old Kendall Park woman rear-ended the Dodge Caravan, Ciccone and Hayducka said.
The driver of the Subaru Legacy was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with minor injuries, authorities said. The driver of the Outback was not hurt.
Krauss was transported to Robert Wood Johnson in critical condition, officials said. She died that night at the hospital.
