HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - An 18-year-old from Grand Island was arrested for DUI early Saturday morning after crashing into a utility pole.

Grand Island Police Department were called to the area of Second and Walnut streets at 5:56 a.m. Saturday after a report that a vehicle struck a pole.

Once on scene, officers discovered that the pole had fallen on the vehicle.

The teen was arrested for DUI, first offense, and possession of a nicotine vape device.

Another juvenile was in the vehicle and was also cited for possession of a nicotine vape device.

This was just one of 23 accidents that GIPD responded to from early Friday morning to Monday morning because of road conditions.
