SPRINGFIELD — Matthew Fontaine-Dulude was a teenager when he first began vaping a Juul e-cigarette.
That was seven years ago.
The 22-year-old Holyoke man now is suing Juul Labs Inc., alleging the company did not properly disclose the health effects posed by the device.
Juul makes small, rectangular, battery-operated e-cigarettes that look similar to a flashdrive.
In a lawsuit filed in Hampden Superior Court on Nov. 24, Fontaine-Dulude, represented by Timothy Kotfila, a Springfield attorney, claims Juul breached its warranty and merchantability, and was negligent and liable for his e-cigarette addiction.
Fontaine-Dulude, according to the lawsuit, was a healthy, athletic, young person prior to smoking Juul pods. The complaint alleges that the company did not say how much nicotine a Juul
