PHOENIX (AZFamily) — People spent an estimated $18 billion shopping on Black Friday, and Adobe estimates shoppers will spend another $14 billion on Cyber Monday.
Despite online sales and promotions running since early November, enthusiasm for Cyber Monday remains strong, according to Andy DiOrio from Amazon.
“Cyber Monday definitely is a tent pole sales celebration for us. We look forward to it every year. I think a lot of customers do as well. It’s kind of the kickoff toward Christmas,” DiOrio said.
Distribution centers prepare for holiday rush
From Monday through Christmas, the volume at a typical Amazon distribution center will double. Centers that handle 45,000 orders a day the rest of the year will now send out 90,000 orders.
