A former England footballer has been sensationally arrested at Stansted Airport following shocking allegations of attempted rape from an ex-partner. The 2010s Three Lions ace was dramatically stopped by Border Force officers as he tried to board a budget flight on Sunday evening, reports The Sun.

It emerged that the star's details flagged him as wanted by police in connection with the serious non-recent accusation reported by his former partner several weeks ago. Essex Police swiftly dispatched officers to the scene to apprehend the suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
