Fans attending “Monday Night Football’s” showdown between the Giants and first-place Patriots at Gillette Stadium should prepare for plunging temperatures and winter weather as the area faces a cold snap that will send overnight lows into the mid-20s, according to AccuWeather .
The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Monday afternoon, but temperatures will drop quickly from 40 degrees at 3 p.m. to 35 degrees by 5 p.m. The RealFeel temperature will make conditions feel closer to 32 degrees as kickoff approaches.
Temperatures will continue to fall, bottoming out at 25 degrees by 11 p.m.
Northwest winds between 5 and 8 mph are expected this afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 16 mph.
