People will want to hang onto something after shopping at the budget supermarket

Aldi shoppers could save themselves a major bill this Christmas , as the supermarket is offering to help write off one of the biggest bills most families face in a week. Bosses have said that dozens of people will get the cost of their food shopping covered in the run-up to Christmas.

From Monday, December 1, shoppers who buy their festive groceries at Aldi can enter the daily prize draw by simply emailing their full name, county of residence and a copy of their receipt to aldidoesadvent@aldi.co.uk . One winner will be randomly selected each day , up until Christmas Eve (December 24), to receive an Aldi voucher covering the value of their shop, up to a maximum of £100.
