Winter may be weeks away, but New Jersey is expected to see snow on Tuesday, Dec. 2 causing some school districts to opt for delayed openings or cancelling school altogether.
Most of the state may see trace amounts or until an inch of snow, but some higher elevation areas such as West Milford and Wantage could see 4-5 inches , according to the National Weather Service.
"Starting early tomorrow morning, we anticipate snowfall, sleet, and freezing rain. I urge all drivers to exercise caution, remain alert, and follow all safety protocols," Gov. Phil Murphy posted on X while declaring a state of emergency for Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Hunterdon and Warren counties.
