MICHIGAN, USA — Thanksgiving weekend saw a widespread, impactful snowstorm across West Michigan. While cleanup from that storm continued Monday for many, lakeshore communities were faced with even more snowfall.

The heavy lake-effect snow prompted school closures in some of those communities. 13 ON YOUR SIDE meteorologists said some areas could see 1 to 3 inches of snowfall per hour.

Muskegon, Ottawa and Oceana counties are seeing the worst of it as it began Monday afternoon, expected to continue overnight. That's why 13 ON YOUR SIDE issued a 13 Weather Impact Alert for those three counties.

Here's a list of some schools that are closed Tuesday due to the snowfall:
