HOBART, Wis. (WBAY) - A local woman once had less than 1% chance to survive after a devastating crash as a teen.
The woman Action 2 News first reported on back in 2002 is now a nurse and mother of three.
She is also the author of a new memoir about the 43 days she spent fighting for her life.
Tansy Lederhaus was just 17 when a crash left her with major injuries and killed her best friend, Sarah, back in 2002.
More than 20 years later, she’s taking her story of pain and perseverance to the pages of her new book.
It’s called “43 Days” and it focuses on her weeks of intensive care at then ThedaClark, now ThedaCare, hospital in Neenah, during which she underwent multiple surgeries and an induced coma.
Tansy also shares how she navigated life after that tragic accident.
