A teenage girl has tragically died after a two-vehicle collision on a rural road near Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.

Emergency services were called to Leeds Road, near Toulston, at 12.28pm on Monday (1 December 2025) after a white Mercedes Sprinter minibus collided with a light-coloured Hyundai i10.

North Yorkshire Police confirmed the victim was a passenger in the minibus, which was carrying nine teenagers aged 16 to 18 and travelling towards Sherburn. Despite efforts by paramedics, the girl died at the scene.

Another teenage girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, though her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The remaining passengers, along with the minibus driver, were treated for minor injuries in hospital.
