CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia athletics announced Monday morning that Virginia football will open the 2026 season in Brazil.

The Cavaliers will face NC State at Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in Week 0 on August 29, 2026. It'll be the first-ever college football game played in South America and will count as an ACC game.
