KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — Police in Kill Devil Hills have made an arrest in a shooting that happened Saturday night.

Police said they were called to the scene in the 1900 block of South Croatan Highway at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release from the Town of Kill Devil Hills.

Police found a victim, a 53-year-old man who lives in Kill Devil Hills, who had been shot nearby in the 100 block of East Fresh Pond Drive. Officers identified the shooter as Timothy Drake, 40, of Kill Devil Hills, who remained nearby and cooperated with law enforcement, according to the press release.

The victim was taken to Outer Banks Health Hospital and later transferred to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he remains stable, the press release stated.
