US President Donald Trump had cardiovascular and abdominal checks when he had an MRI scan, the White House has now confirmed.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the scan was 'preventative' amid growing concerns for Mr Trump's health and cognitive abilities. The US president, 79, underwent the scan in October, and according to his doctor, the results indicated his organs are 'very healthy'.

Leavitt told reporters at a press briefing that "men in his age group benefit from thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health".

She added: "The purpose of this imaging is preventative, to identify any issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure the president maintains long-term vitality and function. President Trump's cardiovascular imaging was perfectly normal. No
