TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police are looking for suspects after a man was shot at a popular East Valley shopping center on Monday morning.

The shooting happened just after 11 a.m. at Tempe Marketplace near Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock Drive .

Police said the man was with his girlfriend at the shopping center, where they were meeting with the suspect to complete an online purchase with the suspect. During that time, the suspect shot the man and took off, police said.

Officers said they found the victim with critical injuries but he died at the scene.

Investigators said they have interviewed witnesses and used the city’s Real Time Operations Center to gather information on possible suspects.

However, no suspects’ descriptions have been released.
