ANN ARBOR, MI — Midnight Madness , that special time of year when downtown Ann Arbor gets extra festive and stores stay open late for holiday shopping, returns Friday, Dec. 5.
City Council voted unanimously Monday night, Dec. 1, to approve closing Main Street between William and Washington streets and Liberty Street from Ashley Street to Fourth Avenue for the annual event that has taken place for many years.
Friday’s event brings together the Main Street, State Street and Kerrytown districts for an evening filled with festive shopping, live entertainment, family activities and holiday celebrations, said Ashley Schafer, Main Street Area Association executive director.
It’s set against the backdrop of glowing holiday lights and includes a chance to meet and snap a photo with Santa Claus
