Leny Yoro has taken to social media after his mistake in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Frenchman made a clumsy foul on compatriot Jean-Philippe Mateta who scored from 12 yards out to put Palace ahead.
After replays showed the ball had accidentally struck his left foot, Mateta was given the chance to retake the penalty and made no mistake with his second attempt. The rules changed following controversy in Atletico Madrid's Champions League last-16 second-leg tie against Real Madrid in March.
At the time, Julian Alvarez slipped as he converted during a penalty shootout, and his standing leg made slight contact with the ball. He was not allowed to retake the spot-kick and Real went on to win the shootout to progress to the quarter-finals.
