Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia says she will join residents on Thursday in opposing a proposed Vanguard Renewables biowaste facility near Chatsworth, as community concerns mount ahead of a public hearing.
The facility would process animal waste, manure, and food waste hauled in from Atlanta and other regions to produce renewable natural gas. Residents fear the operation could threaten air quality, well water, streams, and nearby property values.
The public hearing is scheduled for December 4, at 6:00pm at the Murray County Recreation Department. Residents are also encouraged to contact the Georgia EPD’s Land Protection Branch at 404-362-2537 as the agency reviews the project.
