MORRIS, Minn. — Maci Wheeldon scored eight consecutive points to start the third quarter to help pull Concordia away from Minnesota-Morris for a 79-53 win Monday over Minnesota-Morris in nonconference women's basketball.
Wheeldon finished with 10 points in the quarter, a period in which Concordia outscored the Cougars 23-9, and finished with a game-high 19 points. Molly Musland added 13 points for Concordia (5-1, 1-1 MIAC).
Alexa Snesrud had 9 of her 11 points in the third quarter and finished the game shooting 4 of 5 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line. Taya Jeffrey had five assists to lead the Cobbers while Wheeldon collected eight rebounds, including five on the offensive glass.
Maddy Grove led Morris with 18 points.
The Cobbers play at St. Benedict at 1 p.m. Saturday
