AUSTINTOWN On Monday evening, Austintown Township trustees spent a portion of their meeting commending the community for their support for those affected by the Phoenix House apartment explosion, as well as a few promotions from within the police department.
Trustee Robert Santos mentioned that on the same day of the apartment explosion, every resident of the building had received a health evaluation and was given a place to sleep.
"We're going to do our very best to ensure they have a more permanent home," Santos said. "Every single one of us here is going to be there every step of the way, even though we have passed the torch off to these organizations, we are very much committed to ensure that process gets done as quickly as possible."
