An 85-year-old man was fatally struck by a van on the Upper East Side on Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police responded to a 911 call around 2:42 p.m. of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Park Avenue and East 91st Street, according to the NYPD.

A preliminary investigation found that a 67-year-old driver of a gray Mercedes-Benz sprinter van hit the unidentified man while traveling westbound on Park Avenue, police said.
The wounded pedestrian was transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
The van operator remained on the scene after the incident. No arrests have been made.
