KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Christmas lights at the Cove in Concord Park are a staple of West Knoxville every year, and on the first day of December, they flickered on once again.
“It just keeps on getting bigger and bigger and bigger,” Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs said. “It’s not only great to see the holiday spirit but also to see people come out and help their neighbors that are in need.”
However, it’s something different this year that park organizers are highlighting: the 27 years the festival has taken place.
“It is amazing to start this whole season with something magical,” Whitney Fitzsimons, recreation coordinator of Knox County Parks and Recreation, said. “I think now everybody is looking for something that is family friendly but keeps tradition alive.”
