Geibel Catholic's Emma Larkin reached one milestone on Monday and can reach another on Thursday.
Larkin, a 5-5 senior point guard, broke Geibel's record for career points in the Gators' 70-27 win against visiting Southmoreland in a non-section game.
Larkin scored 26 points in the game to give her 1,992 career points. She broke the record held by KDKA-TV reporter Shelly Bortz, who has held the record since 1992.
“It means a lot to me,” said Larkin. “Shelly Bortz was a great player. I just met her a couple days ago. It was amazing meeting her. It was so cool. It means so much to me to break her record.”
Larkin, who needed 11 points to pass Bortz, broke the record with a 3-pointer from the corner with 3:31 left in the second quarter. The game was stopped for a short ceremony in which Lark
