EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Central girls basketball has one of their standout players, back on the court. Senior star, Maddy Shirley, returned to action, last Saturday, and made an immediate impact, hitting the game-winning shot to beat Jasper.

Shirley missed four games, with a foot injury, but she’s not the only player, who’s been out. Senior guard, Maddie Glaser, is out for the rest of the season.

During the last couple weeks, the Bears did their best, to put a positive spin on the situation, challenging other players to step up around them, and they hope that pays off, in the long run.

Those players, who are getting their chance to shine, know they can always rely on the senior duo of Olivya Hile, and of course, Maddy Shirley, who’s often unstoppable.
