TEMPLE, Texas — Downtown Temple glowed with holiday spirit Dec. 1 as the city hosted its 79th annual Christmas Parade, drawing families from across Central Texas to celebrate a tradition that has marked the start of the season for generations.

More than 100 parade entries rolled through the heart of the city, featuring floats lit from bumper to bumper, community groups waving from decorated vehicles and volunteers bundling up along the route. Organizers say the parade has become a signature event for Temple, held each year on the first Monday of December.

“The Christmas parade is kind of when Temple officially kicks off the holiday season,” Temple Mayor Tim Davis said. “It’s always fun.”
