BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As we head into December, many families are starting to decorate for the holidays, but some items can be dangerous for young children.
Health experts say decorations with small berries, like holly or mistletoe, can be a choking hazard.
Snow globes can also be risky — as many contain antifreeze inside.
Parents should also keep an eye on candles and older ornaments that may contain lead paint or mercury.
If an accident does happen, you’re urged to contact the Kentucky Poison Control Center at Norton Children’s Hospital.
