SALISBURY — A.L. Brown trailed by as many as 13 points but was able to come back and beat Salisbury 45-43 in an exciting girls basketball game played on Monday.
Freshman Imani Franklin made the pivotal shot, a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left that gave the Wonders the lead.
Salisbury (0-1) peaked in the second quarter with a 26-13 advantage, but the Wonders scored the last six points of the first half. Salisbury still led 26-19, but the momentum had turned.
The Wonders (2-2) controlled the third quarter, 16-7, and took a 35-33 lead to the fourth quarter.
The game was tied with a minute left. The Hornets had taken a 43-41 lead when Franklin made her decisive shot.
