FAYETTEVILLE — Bailee Goodlett (North Rowan) had a big game with 21 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and three assists, but Catawba’s women’s basketball team lost on Monday.

The Indians fell to Fayetteville State 79-63 in front of 645 happy fans at Capel Arena.

The Broncos had a blazing start with a 29-point first quarter.

Coming off a Saturday loss at Carson-Newman, Catawba (2-3) did not play very well, shooting 34.4 percent, making 24 turnovers and losing the rebounding battle.

May Spry (Carson) scored 14 for the Indians.

KaNyah O’Neal scored 16 for the Broncos (5-1), who got 36 points from their bench.
