HAMPTON, Va. — Hampton didn’t waste any time asserting control Wednesday night — and once the Pirates did, they never let up.
Powered by career-best performances from Elijah Kennedy (20 points) and Aidan Haskins (16), Hampton (4–5) overwhelmed the Apprentice School (3–4) 94–58 at the Convocation Center, racking up 60 points in the paint and controlling the glass start to finish.
“It was a team effort tonight,” head coach Ivan Thomas said. “We had good balance and were able to get a lot of guys some playing time. We minimized our mistakes and had just nine turnovers. There are still some things we need to clean up but I’m proud of our effort tonight.”
