Passaic County school districts have begun calling for closures and delayed openings for Tuesday due to a winter storm bringing a mix of snow, sleet and heavy rain to parts of New Jersey.

The highest snowfall totals are expected to be in northwestern New Jersey.

The National Weather Service said that could create a messy morning commute for areas where snow changes to sleet and then rain.
